What to know
Free-machining stainless. Much faster to machine than 304, at the cost of slightly lower corrosion resistance and poor weldability.
Design tips
Stainless work-hardens when the tool rubs instead of cutting. Avoid very thin walls and tiny features, and passivate after machining for best corrosion resistance.
